Maulana Tayyab Qureshi to receive Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

PESHAWAR: The Government of Pakistan has approved the conferment of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, Chief Khateeb of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in recognition of his religious, social, and community services.

A communication stated that he is among the youngest religious leaders from KP to receive this prestigious national honour.A widely respected and credible religious scholar, he serves as the Khateeb of the historic Mahabat Khan Mosque in Peshawar, one of the province’s most prominent places of worship.

Belonging to the century-old scholarly legacy of Jamia Asharia, Maulana Tayyab Qureshi continues a distinguished family tradition of religious leadership and public service. He is the son of renowned scholar late Maulana Yousaf Qureshi and the grandson of Maulana Abdul Qureshi, both of whom played significant roles in guiding communities and promoting unity.

Known for his efforts in promoting peace, interfaith harmony, and social cohesion, Maulana Tayyab Qureshi has earned widespread respect across diverse segments of society. The award, announced on the occasion of Independence Day 2025, will be formally conferred on March 23, 2026, according to the Cabinet Division.
