Rawalpindi:One kilogram mutton was selling at Rs2,600 to Rs3,000, beef was selling at Rs1,500 to Rs2,000 and chicken meat was selling at Rs620 to Rs700 a day before Eid here on Thursday.
Interestingly, customers were searching PEERA force officials and price control magistrates but failed to find out them here in any area of open market shops. The local administration has left public in the lurch resulted profiteers and hoarders looting buyers with both hands. “If a customer resisted against price hike, he will face the music”.
People belonged to all walks of life strongly protested against ‘man-made’ artificial inflation all around in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on special occasion and questioned that where were the local administration official.
It is worth mentioning here that on 29th of Ramazan, prices of all kinds of fruits decreased but prices of mutton, beef and chicken increased exorbitant. The residents of Rawalpindi have appealed Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to take action against local administration officials they have left public in the lurch.
