Islamabad: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training hosted a contract signing ceremony to launch the “Provision of Remedial Therapy Services” across all educational institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

The initiative was formalised in partnership with the National Institute of Psychology (NIP), Centre of Excellence, Quaid-e-Azam University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Rubina Hanif and in the presence of Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Secretary Nadeem Mahbub and senior FDE officials.

Officials said aligned with the Dyslexia Bill 2022, the programme focuses on timely and evidence-based interventions for students with learning disabilities. They said a dedicated team of 60 remedial therapists and three expert coordinators would conduct diagnostic assessments, provide therapeutic support and contribute to teacher capacity building to strengthen inclusive learning practices.

The officials said the initiative reflected a strong commitment to building a sustainable framework where students with diverse learning needs were fully supported to achieve their academic potential within the formal education system.
