Factory producing adulterated milk busted in twin cities

Rawalpindi:The Punjab Food Authority and Islamabad Food Authority have intensified joint actions against the adulteration mafia by uncovering a factory producing adultered milk during an early morning raid in the Nawab Town Sohan area.

According to the spokesman, the operation was conducted on the basis of secret information and prolonged surveillance.During the raid, officials seized and destroyed approximately 200 litres of prepared adultered milk solution, 50Kg of dry powder and 32 Kg of frying oil.

All equipment used in the production of fake milk was also confiscated by the raiding teams.The spokesman said the adulterated milk, which posed a serious health hazard to citizens, was being supplied in the market.Islamabad Food Authority has registered a formal case against the factory owners and initiated further legal proceedings.

The successful operation was made possible with intelligence provided by the Punjab Food Authority, reflecting effective coordination between the two institutions.The spokesman added that the Punjab Food Authority is also providing information support to the KPK Food Authority, leading to crackdowns in various cities.So far, more than 20 major raids have been conducted in Islamabad with assistance from the Punjab Food Authority.

Officials said the strict and indiscriminate actions have forced the adulteration mafia to seek refuge in other provinces, but both authorities have made it clear that such elements will be pursued at every level.The food authorities have appealed to the public to report adulterated items so that citizens can be ensured access to quality and safe food.
