The judicial commission probing the deadly fire at the Gul Plaza has summoned Board of Revenue (BoR) Senior Member Khalid Hyder Shah to appear before it along with the relevant record of the Gul Plaza with an explanation of earlier failure to comply with its order.
The inquiry commission headed by Justice Agha Faisal had directed the BoR senior member to submit all entries, mutations and allied papers relating to the Gul Plaza on March 13, however, he did not comply with the direction of the commission.
The commission had directed the BoR member to submit notifications, allotments, transfers or orders issued in respect of the property and relevant record on March 13. It had observed that the BoR senior member failed to provide details within stipulated time and defaulted in duty under the law.
The commission directed the senior member to appear in person on March 25 along with relevant record sought by the commission as well as written explanation for non-compliance with earlier direction.
It warned the BoR senior member that in event of subsistence of his default, the commission reserved the right to draw appropriate inference and take necessary measures as permissible under the law.
