The Revenue Protection and Enforcement Cell (RPEC) of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has launched a large-scale crackdown against water theft across the city.

In this regard, a joint operation was conducted with the support of the Sindh Rangers against illegal water connections in the Sohrab Goth area along the Super Highway. According to KWSC officials, the primary objective of the operation was to eliminate illegal connections taken from the corporation’s 16-inch diameter water supply line.

According to officials, after the removal of these illegal connections, the relevant pipelines were completely sealed using wooden plugs to effectively prevent any future attempts at water theft. Various equipment used for water theft was also seized during the operation, including donkey pumps, mono block pumps, PVC pipes and valves.
