The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) immigration authorities exposed a passenger involved in illegal international travel routes during an operation at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

According to the FIA Karachi Zone, the passenger, identified as Qamar-ul-Hassan, a resident of Sialkot, arrived in Karachi from Portugal via Turkey. During immigration clearance, his suspicious behaviour led officials to refer him to the shift in-charge for further scrutiny.

A detailed interrogation showed that the passenger had travelled illegally through Iran and Turkey, and had entered Europe via Turkey, Greece, and Italy through unauthorised routes. He later reached Portugal, where he obtained a temporary residence permit. The suspect admitted to contacting an agent, Muhammad Afzal, based in Sialkot, who allegedly arranged the illegal journey for Rs150,000. The route included Quetta, Iran, Turkey, Italy and Portugal, officials said.

The passenger has been taken into custody and is being transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal action.
