Huge leaps for Salman Agha, Miraz in ICC Men’s ODI rankings

LAHORE: The latest ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings update has brought major boosts for Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha and Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz, reflecting their standout performances in the recent ODI series at Mirpur.

Salman has surged to a career-best ninth position in the batting rankings, level with India’s K.L. Rahul, after scoring fluent knocks of 64 and 106 in the second and third ODIs. His rise from 18th to the top 10 highlights his growing reputation as a dependable middle-order batter for Pakistan.

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has also made significant progress, climbing nine places to seventh among bowlers thanks to his figures of 3/29 and 2/34 in the first two matches. Both Salman and Mehidy improved in the all-rounders’ list as well, with Salman moving up to joint-10th and Mehidy advancing to second, just behind Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai.

Bangladesh’s batting unit saw further gains, with Tanzid Hasan jumping 31 places to 55th after his maiden ODI century in the series decider. Towhid Hridoy rose to 32nd, while Litton Das climbed to 82nd. Among bowlers, Taskin Ahmed advanced to 28th after his four-wicket haul, while Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana also made notable progress.

For Pakistan, fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf edged up to 17th and 19th respectively, while leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed remains their highest-ranked bowler at 13th.

In the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings, New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner climbed to 13th among bowlers after economical spells against South Africa, while teammate Lockie Ferguson and opener Devon Conway also made strides. South Africa’s Ottneil Baartman rose to 73rd after taking three wickets in two matches.
