The Jamaat-e-Islami’s political future appears uncertain, says Karamullah Waqasi an official of the Karachi Mayor office on Tuesday and added that the JI cannot deceive the public by targeting the mayor to hide corruption in its nine towns.
Moreover, with the exemplary leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the efforts of the mayor, the lights of Karachi are being restored and the city is moving towards development, he said.
Waqasi, who is also PPP parliamentary leader in the KMC, strongly rejected the statements of JI Karachi emir Munem Zafar Khan, stating that the JI is unsuccessfully attempting to elevate its political stature by using the names of Bilawal Bhutto and the mayor of Karachi for mere political point-scoring.
He said the JI has become the biggest obstacle to Karachi’s development and its politics has been reduced to criticism, allegations, and press conferences. He added that instead of taking practical steps to resolve the city’s issues, the JI is busy misleading the public and creating political unrest.
