EV bus route

Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced the launch of a new EV bus route in Karachi starting on Tuesday (today).

In a statement issued to the media on Monday, Memon said the provincial transport department was introducing a new eco-friendly EV bus route on Tuesday. A large number of citizens were expected to benefit from the initiative, he added.

He stated that the new electric bus route would operate from Gulshan-e-Maymar to the Merewether Tower, covering a distance of 32 kilometres. This route would provide the residents of Gulshan-e-Maymar, Surjani Town, and surrounding areas with easy access to Saddar.

The launch would offer modern, comfortable and affordable travel options to a large number of Karachi residents, the transport minister said as he emphasised that the Sindh government was taking practical steps to provide quality and environment-friendly public transport. More routes of EV bus service would also be introduced in the future, he said.

He added that improving public transport in a big city like Karachi was among the priorities of the government, and modern electric buses were part of the same vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership and Sindh government.
