A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh IGP Javed Alam Odho on the operational preparedness, capabilities and available facilities of the Quick Response Forces (QRF) established in various units of the Sindh Police.
IGP Odho said professional training of QRF personnel and enhancing their capabilities with modern equipment are the need of the hour. Timely deployment and access of the QRF in sensitive places and high-risk areas proves effective in extraordinary situations, he said.
Officials said the meeting held at the Central Police Office Karachi was attended by additional IGs of Karachi and Operations, DIGs of Headquarters, Establishment, Security and Emergency Services, RRF, Training and West, East Zone and AIGs.
The participants were given a briefing by additional IG Karachi, DIG RRF and DIG West on the Quick Response Force, operational preparedness and future course of action. The meeting reviewed the international and domestic situation and the situation arising in view of possible law and order concerns.
It was decided to keep the RRF, Security and Emergency Services Division and Quick Response Force at the zonal level ready at all times. The meeting also decided that additional quick response forces will be immediately trained, equipped with anti-riot equipment and necessary weapons.

He added that quick and effective police response to any untoward incident strengthens the confidence of the public. THE QRF should be further integrated under the command and control system so that the response time can be minimized, he said.
