QUETTA: Unknown armed assailants opened fire on the Panwan check-post of Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) in the coastal town of Jiwani in Gwadar, resulting in the martyrdom of two personnel and injuring another.
According to Gwadar District Police Officer (DPO) Atta-ur-Rehman Tareen, PCG’s Naik Saleem and Sepoy Adnan were martyred in the attack, while Sepoy Azeem sustained injuries.
Following receipt of information, the police and other law-enforcement agencies personnel rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
The DPO said efforts were under way to trace the attackers, while the injured official was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.Security forces have tightened security in the area following the attack.
