LAHORE:More than 6,000 traffic challans have been issued for over-speeding on national highways, and motorways across the province. According to official sources, more than 6,000 traffic challans have been issued so far for violating the prescribed speed limit.
For effective traffic management, more than 1,100 traffic signboards and awareness banners have been prominently displayed at important places, while a vigorous awareness campaign is also underway at national highways, toll plazas and other important places.
The public is being continuously informed about speeding through social media and other platforms, so that traffic accidents can be reduced and road safety can be ensured.According to sources, the change in the speed limit has been made with a view to efficient use of energy and fuel saving, which will not only make travel safer but also promote environmentally friendly measures.
