LAHORE: The Multan Sultans have made a series of bold moves ahead of the Pakistan Super League season, strengthening their squad with both homegrown talent and explosive new signings.

Due to the exceptional circumstances under which the franchise was acquired, the Sultans have been granted an incremental PKR 1.2 crore increase in their salary cap. They also received permission to make two additional signings, taking their maximum squad size to 22 players, though matchday squads will remain capped at 20.

In a headline-grabbing deal, Multan Sultans traded Ahmad Daniyal (fast bowler) and Jahanzeb Sultan (batter) to the Quetta Gladiators, bringing back two of their own are Faisal Akram (spinner) – a highly rated left-arm wrist spinner known for his mystery variations and control and Arafat Minhas (all-rounder) – a dynamic, hard-hitting all-rounder and natural leader, returning to the franchise where he first made waves.

Both players are Multan-born, embodying the Sultans’ philosophy of building a team deeply rooted in South Punjab. Their homecoming is expected to energize the fan base and strengthen the squad’s balance.

The Sultans also announced the signing of Aitizaz Habib Khan, a 28-year-old all-rounder from Mardan. Known for his explosive late-order hitting and handy off-spin, Aitizaz has built a reputation in domestic cricket as one of the most dangerous finishers. His ability to clear boundaries with ease makes him a major threat in death overs, while his spin adds crucial balance in the middle stages.

With the return of local heroes Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas, alongside the addition of Aitizaz Habib Khan, Multan Sultans have reinforced their identity as a franchise that champions South Punjab talent while blending it with proven performers. The roster moves not only strengthen their bowling and all-round depth but also highlight the franchise’s long-term vision of combining resilience, flair, and homegrown pride.
