8th MPL to kick off from May 5

LAHORE: The much-anticipated 8th edition of the Millionaire Premier League (MPL) is set to commence in Lahore from May 5. Ten teams will compete in this six-day extravaganza. During a ceremony held at a local hall, the tournament trophy and official kits were unveiled by MPL Chairman Farhad Iqbal, alongside Zeeshan Butt, Rana Umar, and Afzal Jabbar. The captains of all participating teams finalised their squads through a strategic drafting process.

Chairman Farhad Iqbal announced significant rewards for the participants and spectators. The winners will get PKR 2 million cash prize and the trophy while the runners-up will get PKR 1 million cash prize and the trophy.

For fans cash prizes worth hundreds of thousands of rupees have been allocated specifically for the spectators. Highlighting the league’s contribution to Pakistan cricket, the Chairman noted that superstars like Haris Rauf, Salman Mirza, Zahid, Hamza and Jalalat Khan have all emerged from the MPL platform before making their mark in the HBL PSL and international cricket.
