LAHORE: Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali presided over an important meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday to review progress on ongoing sports development projects across the province.

The meeting was attended by DG Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad, Deputy Director Planning Mirza Nadeem Baig, and other senior officials.

Muhammad Ali revealed that work is currently underway on 88 new sports development schemes across Punjab. He emphasized that the prime objective of the Punjab Sports Department is to build sports infrastructure at the Union Council level, ensuring accessibility for youth in both urban and rural areas.

He further stated that the projects being developed are of international standard, reflecting the government’s commitment to nurturing a strong sports culture across all divisions of the province.

The Secretary highlighted that these initiatives are not just about infrastructure but about creating opportunities for young athletes to train, compete, and excel. By expanding facilities to the grassroots, Punjab aims to foster a sustainable sports ecosystem that can produce talent capable of competing at national and international levels.

As the 88 projects in progress, including modern complexes and facilities, Punjab is positioning itself as a hub for sports excellence. The emphasis on international standards and grassroots accessibility signals a long-term vision to integrate sports into everyday life across the province.
