A most-wanted suspect was killed in an exchange of fire between police and an armed robber near PNT Colony in the Gizri area.
According to the District South police, the Gizri police conducted a raid near the Iqbal Ground in PNT Colony on a tip-off. When the police party reached the location, the suspect opened fire on them.
As the police team returned fire, the suspect was killed.
The deceased suspect was identified as Shayan Mashori. The District South police stated that he was a notorious criminal booked in more than 30 cases of robbery, street crime and other serious offenses at different police stations.
During the exchange of fire, members of the police team were also hit by bullets; however, they remained safe due to bulletproof jackets.
The suspect’s body was shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.
