ISLAMABAD: A fiery knock of 61 not out by Pakistan juniors captain Farhan Yousaf earned Lahore Whites a splendid six-wicket victory against Peshawar as the Regional National T20 Championship started at the Imran Khan Stadium, Peshawar, Saturday. Peshawar, who elected to bat first in the opening match of the Championship, were restricted to 167 for 9 with Yasir Khan (65) being the only notable run getter.

Lahore Whites captain Aamir Jamal picked 3 for 40. Farhan’s 31-ball unbeaten knock then ensured a win for Lahore Whites. He smashed four sixes and five fours to take the game away from Peshawar.

Mohammad Nawaz (2-40) and Usman Tariq (1-33) were Peshwar’s main bowlers.

Score: Peshawar 167 for 9 in 20 overs (Yasir Khan 65, Waqar Ahmad 28, Aamir Jamal 3-40, Ramiz 2-34)

Lahore Whites 168 for 4 in 17 overs (Farhan Yousaf 61 not out, Mohammad Ikhlaq 58, Mohammad Nawaz 2-40, Usman Tariq 1-33)
