ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought a report from the Adiala Jail superintendent on how much sentence PTI founder Imran Khan has served in the Toshakhana case.
A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a written order for hearing on a request to shift the PTI founder to Shifa International Hospital for treatment. Three objections to the petition were removed, while two were upheld and a notice was issued to the additional attorney general and the advocate general.
The written order says the Registrar Office should number the miscellaneous application and schedule it with the main appeal and prepare the paper book of appeals before the next hearing on March 10.
On the other hand, Imran’s sister Uzma Khan has approached the IHC to shift her brother to hospital for treatment. The court was requested to provide access to private physicians during the medical examination and treatment of the PTI founder. The petition filed with the Islamabad High Court has said that immediate and timely information regarding the health of Imran should be provided. The court was requested to arrange the medical examination of Imran by doctors of his choice Dr Khurram Mirza, Dr Asim Yousaf, Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Samina Niazi.
It was further requested that the PTI founder should undergo blood tests. Doctors, family members and lawyers should be provided with continuous access to the PTI founder during his detention and treatment. The PTI founder’s complete medical reports, including blood tests, eye tests and diagnostic reports for the last three months be provided.
