ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, briefed party lawmakers on the prevailing regional environment and provided policy guidelines to members of parliament.
On Monday, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presided over a joint meeting of the parliamentary party of PPP Parliamentarians, comprising members of both houses of Parliament—the Senate and National Assembly—at the Parliament House. President Asif Ali Zardari also attended the meeting of PPP Parliamentarians as a special participant.
The meeting was attended by all members of the National Assembly and Senate from the party, underscoring the leadership’s efforts to ensure parliamentary coordination amid evolving regional and political developments. Asifa Bhutto Zardari, First Lady and member of the National Assembly, was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, special prayers were offered in connection with developments concerning Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, reflecting the party’s expression of solidarity and concern over the regional situation.
Addressing the participants, Chairman PPP Bhutto Zardari briefed party lawmakers on the current regional environment and provided policy guidelines to members of parliament. He emphasised the importance of unity, vigilance, and a coordinated parliamentary approach in responding to emerging challenges. President Zardari’s presence at the meeting was seen as significant, as he interacted with party lawmakers and discussed key political and regional matters, reaffirming the party’s commitment to democratic stability and parliamentary engagement.
