4 govt employees jailed for leaking sensitive info

ISLAMABAD: Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Special Court of Official Secrets Act on Saturday convicted four government employees and acquitted two in a case of leaking sensitive information.

Pronouncing the verdict in the case registered under the Official Secrets Act, the court sentenced Safdarur Rehman to 10 years in prison, and Tafzeelur Rehman, Muhammad Waqar and Muhammad Tahir to 5 years in prison each.

The court acquitted Mujtaba and Muhammad Ashfaq on the basis of lack of evidence, as the crime was not proven.
