MINGORA/NOWSHERA/MANSEHRA: The police have intensified operations against illegally residing foreign nationals across the province, arresting hundreds of persons under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.
In Swat, a district-wide crackdown had formally been launched targeting foreign nationals staying unlawfully. The campaign aimed at further strengthening law and order and ensuring the writ of law.
During the ongoing operations, 80 suspects have so far been taken into custody under the relevant provisions of the Foreigners Act. The police have also warned all property owners, including landlords of houses and shops, to immediately evict persons residing illegally on their premises. Authorities cautioned that in case of non-compliance, strict and indiscriminate legal action would be taken against those found violating the law.
