Fire put out in Clifton high-rise building

A fire broke out in a high-rise building near Delhi Colony in Clifton, prompting an immediate response from rescue authorities, according to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Sindh.

The Central Command and Control Centre of Rescue 1122 dispatched fire and rescue teams, along with ambulances and fire brigade vehicles, to the scene upon receiving information about the blaze.

Officials said the fire erupted in a private mart located on the ground floor of the building. The structure comprises a commercial mart on the ground floor, three parking floors above it, and ten additional floors consisting of residential apartments.

Rescue 1122 teams safely evacuated all occupants from the building and prevented the flames from spreading further. A total of four fire brigade vehicles took part in the firefighting operation. The spokesperson later confirmed that the fire had been fully extinguished and cooling operations were under way.

Separately, a fire broke out at a restaurant in Gulzar-e-Hijri near Abu Al Hasan Isphahani Road in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. According to a fire brigade spokesperson, the blaze erupted in the basement of the restaurant. A fire brigade vehicle reached the scene shortly after the alert was received and began firefighting efforts. The fire was brought under control promptly, and cooling operations were initiated. No casualties were reported.

In another incident, a fire was reported in a building near the Civil Hospital Karachi. A Rescue 1122 Sindh spokesperson said that upon receiving information at the Central Command and Control Centre, fire and rescue teams, along with an ambulance and a fire brigade vehicle, were dispatched to the site.

Rescue teams managed to extinguish the fire swiftly. The spokesperson said the blaze had broken out on the ground floor of a residential building. Wooden shops were located beneath the building, while offices of the Timber Market operate on the first floor.

Initial reports suggested that the fire was caused by a short circuit. However, no loss of life was reported in any of the incidents.
