Preedy police have arrested another suspect allegedly involved in the armed robbery of Rs9 million from a trader in Saddar.
Raids are underway to apprehend other accomplices still at large. According to DIG South Asad Raza, the suspect was identified as Bilal alias Abdul Shah. Police recovered Rs900,000 from his possession, part of the looted amount. The arrest was made on the identification of the prime suspect, Asad Hussain, son of Iqbal Hussain, who had earlier been detained in connection with the February 2026 robbery. Previously, police had recovered Rs2 million from the main suspect. With the latest recovery, a total of Rs2.9 million has been retrieved from the Rs9 million looted in the incident. So far, two suspects have been arrested. The robbery took place on February 14, 2026, and an FIR was registered at the Preedy police station.
According to the complaint, motorcyclists intercepted solar inverter trader Safeer Butt near Regal Chowk in Saddar and snatched a bag containing Rs9 million as he was heading to deposit the cash at a nearby private bank along with his employee. The suspects reportedly opened fire while fleeing to terrorise the victim; however, no casualties were reported.
