The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Saturday organised a grand and spirited rally to express solidarity with the Pakistani armed forces, drawing a large number of party leaders, elected representatives, workers and supporters.
Among those present were MQM-P members of the National and Sindh assemblies who, alongside party officials and activists, reaffirmed their resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in defence of the motherland.
Addressing the gathering, MQM-P senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar said the assembly of descendants of the founders of Pakistan was a testimony to the enduring commitment to make every sacrifice necessary for the protection of the country.
He stated that whenever the survival, security, stability, reconstruction and development of Pakistan were at stake, Karachi had always been the first to offer itself for the nation. He described the bond between the Pakistani armed forces and the MQM-P as inseparable.
Dr Sattar termed the nexus between India and Afghanistan as a patron of a global terrorism network, asserting that Pakistan’s decades-long hospitality had been repaid with terrorism. He said millions of Afghans were given respect, livelihoods, identity and passports in Pakistan, but added that patience had now worn thin.
He claimed that Pakistan’s success in the ‘battle of truth’ and India’s international embarrassment remained a source of shame for Narendra Modi, adding that the global recognition received by Pakistan under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir had unsettled India, Afghanistan and their alleged facilitators.
Another senior central MQM-P leader Syed Aminul Haque said the leadership, workers and people of Karachi not only expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army but also renewed their pledge to stand alongside the armed forces, if required, to confront the enemies of the state decisively.
He alleged that Afghanistan was operating as an Indian proxy and that threads of terrorist activities in Pakistan could be traced via Afghanistan to India.
He recalled that the world had witnessed Pakistan delivering a strong response to Indian aggression last year, forcing the adversary into retreat. He maintained that it was an internationally acknowledged reality that whenever a hostile eye was cast upon the God-gifted state of Pakistan, the entire nation stood as a wall of steel with the Pakistan armed forces.
MNA Hafeezuddin said love for the homeland and the spirit of sacrifice ran in their blood. He added that they possessed the ability to uproot any hand raised against the legacy of their forefathers.
The MQM-P’s Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Ali Khursheedi said every citizen of Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces. He warned that the enemies of Pakistan should harbour no illusions, stating that whether aggressive designs originated from India or Afghanistan, the armed forces knew how to effectively respond.
At the conclusion of the rally, the MQM-P demanded that the Pakistan government ensure implementation of the National Action Plan in its true spirit and immediately launch indiscriminate and comprehensive action against elements involved in terrorism and criminal activities, as well as their facilitators.
