LAHORE : A heartwarming scene unfolded at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Saturday as a five-year-old boy, found near the emergency gate, was safely reunited with his family through the swift intervention of the hospital administration.

The emotional reunion, where the child rushed to his mother and grandmother upon seeing them, left bystanders and staff in tears.

Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal lauded the female administrative doctors for their vigilance, empathy and professional dedication. In recognition of their exemplary service, he announced commendation certificates for the officers involved, stating that such proactive steps enhance the institution’s prestige and public trust.

According to details, the little boy was spotted standing distressed near the Emergency Ward on Saturday afternoon. Duty (DMS) Dr. Anam Batool and Dr. Faiza Khalid immediately took notice. Despite their efforts to inquire about his name or address, the child was unable to communicate.

The doctors took him into protective custody and initiated an immediate search for his guardians. Shortly after, Uzma Tahir, a resident of Asghar Chowk, Ghazi Road, arrived at the hospital with her mother-in-law in search of the child and identified him. The family revealed that the boy, Furqan Ahmed, has a speech impairment, which often leads to him wandering off.

The mother and grandmother expressed their profound gratitude to the hospital administration, offering prayers for the doctors whose timely attention ensured the child’s safety.
