Rs7.2m medical equipment donated to 7 hospitals

LAHORE : Former President of the Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons, Prof Dr Khizar Hayat Gondal, has donated state-of-the-art medical equipment worth Rs7.2 million to seven government hospitals.

The beneficiaries include Lahore General Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Social Security Hospital Shahdara, Teaching Hospital Shahdara, and DHQ hospitals in Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, and Kasur. The donation aims to strengthen urological surgical facilities at the district level.

, allowing underprivileged patients to receive high-quality treatment for kidney, bladder, and prostate ailments locally, avoiding costly trips to major cities.

Prof Gondal said that although district hospitals have expert urologists, the lack of modern equipment often forced referrals to Lahore. The new equipment will reduce pressure on tertiary care hospitals and save patients time and money.

The donation ceremony was attended by senior medical experts, including Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmed, Prof Muzammil Tahir, Prof Shahzad Anwar, Prof M Nazir, Prof Fawad Nasrullah, Dr Shah Jahan, Dr Kamran Zaidi, Dr Shah Jahan Dareshed, Dr Asad Shah and others.
