Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) launched strict enforcement actions against traffic violations on highways, taking decisive measures against reckless driving and unsafe practices.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that special highway squads arrested five bikers involved in one-wheeling, while their motorcycles were impounded at police stations. The official said ITP also took action against more than 35 heavy vehicles for lane violations and overloading during the ongoing crackdown.

He said dedicated squads had been deployed on highways in Ramazan to ensure safer traffic flow and prevent dangerous violations. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun is personally supervising the enforcement operations, he added.
