LAHORE : DCO Railways Abdullah Arshad, on the instructions of Divisional Superintendent Office of Pakistan Railways Lahore, carried out continuous raids on trains, resulting in fines being imposed on 75 ticketless passengers traveling on the Subak Raftar Rail Car.

According to a press release, during a surprise raid on the Subak Raftar Rail Car operating from Lahore to Rawalpindi, a total of Rs57,490 was recovered from 75 passengers in the form of fares and penalties. The amount has been deposited into the national exchequer.

Commercial Inspector Faisal Nazeer and a Special Ticket Checking Squad accompanied the DCO Railways during the operation.

Separately, DCO Railways Abdullah Arshad inspected the kitchen portion of the Subak Raftar dining car. The dining car contractor was fined Rs3,000 over poor cleanliness arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Arshad said that regular and strict checking on trains would continue and the crackdown against ticketless passengers would be further intensified to discourage the practice.

He added that, in line with the vision of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and the directions of DS Railways Inamullah, quality food availability in dining cars at railway stations and on trains would be ensured.
