I believe that it is very important for young people like me to understand AI and how it works, on par with learning math, science or English. In many countries, schools are already teaching students about AI. They even teach teachers to help students understand AI in their daily lessons. In Pakistan, while some universities and tech programmes are starting AI courses, I feel there is still a lot of work to do in schools. Most students do not get a chance to learn AI early, which makes it harder to prepare for future jobs that will rely on the technology. I also think AI education should not be only about coding or using AI tools.
Ethics, privacy and how to think critically about AI decisions need to be a part of the curriculum. Equal access to technology is also important. Not all schools in Pakistan have computers or internet access, which makes it hard for students in smaller cities or villages to learn about AI. If we want Pakistan’s youth to compete globally in the future, we need government programmes, school initiatives and community support to make AI education available to everyone.
