A meeting of the Provincial Information Committee of the Central Apex Committee was held under the National Action Plan 2021 under the chairmanship of Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon.
Officials said that the meeting formally approved the Comprehensive Plan of Action for the Information Domain. The committee decided to forward the Comprehensive Plan of Action to the federal government through the RNAP Secretariat. It also approved quarterly reviews of implementation progress and regular reporting.
The meeting reviewed progress made at the provincial level under the Information Domain of RNAP 2021 and the Comprehensive Action Plan. It discussed in detail the strategy for running coordinated campaigns through electronic, digital, and outdoor media, strengthening the national narrative through films and documentaries, and countering the enemy’s narrative following the “Battle of Right.”
Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Senior Minister Memon said the comprehensive action plan includes measures such as forming a unified national narrative, promoting Pakistani identity and the message of Pakistan, responding effectively to extremism and misleading propaganda, ensuring digital accountability, and raising public awareness.
He said strengthening and integrating the national narrative is the need of the hour and that the Sindh government is fulfilling its responsibilities under RNAP 2021 with full commitment. Memon said steps are being taken in the information domain that will deliver measurable and lasting results. He added that only a unified national narrative can effectively counter enemy propaganda and provide positive and constructive direction to the younger generation. He said the Sindh government will continue to extend full cooperation, in line with federal guidelines, to promote national security, peace, stability, and social harmony.
