Islamabad: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), in collaboration with a private bank, successfully hosted the CDA Cycling Championship at D-Chowk and along Jinnah Avenue, drawing a large number of cycling enthusiasts from across the federal capital.

Nearly 300 cyclists representing various age groups and backgrounds participated in the championship, highlighting growing public interest in healthy and environmentally friendly recreational activities. The event featured multiple inclusive race categories, including Open Men, Open Women, Senior Men, Senior Women, Under-16, and Under-9, ensuring broad-based participation.

In the Men’s Open category, Usman Asad secured first place, followed by Waseem Zia in second and Danish Mad in third. The Men’s Master title was claimed by Hamza Niazi, with Umair Masood finishing second and Sarfraz taking third position.

Among the youngest participants in the Under-9 category, Suffain, son of Ghulam Mustafa, clinched first place, while Alex and Ahmed secured second and third positions, respectively.

In the Women’s Open race, Saltanat Simbina emerged as the winner, followed by Humara Arshad in second place and Zaniab in third. Anjum Asad Amin won the Women’s Master category.

Wafa Rani, daughter of Banaras Khan, claimed first place in the Girls’ Under-16 competition, with Zonaria Sohail finishing second and Zainab third. In the Boys’ Under-16 race, Abu Zar, son of Aman-ud-Din, secured first position, followed by Shaheer Niazi, son of Hamza Niazi, in second place and Salman Khan in third.

The event was attended by senior officials and dignitaries, including representatives of the Capital Development Authority, Islamabad district administration, traffic police, and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce.
