The Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) has launched Karachi’s first donation drive-through facility at the SIUT Trust Hospital on Sharea Faisal, introducing a convenient and organised way for the public to support patient care.
For over 50 years the SIUT has provided completely free, high-quality medical care to more than 35 million patients. With continued community support, the institution remains focused on expanding services to reach those in need.
Members of the Vintage & Classic Rally Drivers Association of Pakistan participated in the ceremonial inauguration of the drive-thru facility, which included a symbolic drive-thru donation, a briefing and a hospital tour.
“This milestone has been made possible through the trust and continued support of the public,” said Dr Rehan Mohsin. “The donation drive-thru facility provides a convenient and organised way for citizens to contribute towards the treatment of patients in need.”
The SIUT Trust Hospital, housed in the former Regent Plaza building due to its central location on Sharea Faisal, is being developed as a future-ready campus that integrates clinical services with academic and research initiatives.
Alongside existing services, the facility will support training programmes, clinical research and the gradual integration of advanced digital technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes.
The SIUT Trust Hospital currently provides essential services including dialysis, lithotripsy and physiotherapy. The Dialysis Unit operates multiple beds daily under experienced nephrologists and trained nursing staff using modern equipment that meets international standards, while advanced lithotripsy and comprehensive physiotherapy services continue to expand patient care.
Through these initiatives, the SIUT continues to uphold its founding principle of providing quality health care with dignity, free of charge, and without discrimination.
