LAHORE : All Pakistan Kite Flying Association legal adviser and General Secretary Lahore region Advocate Malik Faizan Naeem has appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for reviving Basant Festival in Lahore.
In his statement, Malik Faizan Naeem described the revival of Basant as a landmark cultural and economic decision that not only restores the vibrant and colourful tradition of Lahore but also significantly strengthens the local economy. He stated that organising Basant under a regulated and safe framework demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to preserving cultural heritage while ensuring public safety.
Highlighting the economic impact of Basant 2026, he noted that the three-day festival generated economic activity worth approximately Rs4 to 6 billion. The kite and string industry alone contributed nearly Rs2 billion in sales, directly benefiting manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and small-scale vendors.
