PTI workers block motorway on 2nd day

SWABI: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers blocked the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on the second consecutive day on Saturday to put pressure on the government to let Imran Khan seek medical treatment from doctors of his own choice.

The motorway remained closed for traffic due to the protest of the PTI workers.

They demanded the government to release Imran Khan to seek medical treatment for his eye ailment.

The protesting workers of PTI were led by provincial ministers, Meena Khan and Aqibullah Khan. The protesters blocked the motorway at the rest area near Swabi interchange.

It was learnt that the PTI leadership directed the workers that they should reach Swabi interchange.

Addressing the protesters, Aqibullah Khan said that Imran Khan who gave a vision to the people should be allowed to conduct treatment of his eye.

He said the federal government had failed and that the situation might reach a boiling point anytime, adding that the rulers of Islamabad would be responsible for it.

He said that the motorway would remain closed until their demands were met and no more delaying tactics of the federal government was acceptable to PTI leaders and workers.
