MINGORA: Police have arrested nine suspects in connection with a firing incident in Saidu Sharif, Swat, in which a prominent lawyer was killed and eight others injured.
Prominent lawyer Ataullah Jan was killed and eight others injured in the firing incident that occurred on Wednesday evening over a dispute involving children.
Following the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Swat took immediate notice and directed SP Investigation to form a special investigation team. The team conducted operations and apprehended nine suspects involved in the case.
The arrested individuals include Mansoor, Fazal Khaliq, Sartaj, Abdul Aleem, Hussain Iqbal, Fazal Rahim, Naimatullah, and Imran.
Officials said the police also recovered weapons used in the crime, including SMGs, pistols, and sticks, from the suspects.
“The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have assured strict action against all involved,” said an official.
A minor dispute between children escalated into a deadly armed clash between two rival groups.
