KHAR: Three persons, including two young girls, were killed when the roof of a room collapsed in the Nihaq Banda area of Mamond tehsil of Bajaur district on Wednesday, officials and local sources said.
The locals said the tragic incident occurred in Nihaq Barha Banda, where the roof of a house gave way, burying the occupants under the debris. As a result, the mother of Zakirullah and his two daughters lost their lives on the spot, while his wife sustained injuries.
The locals rushed to the scene and, using their own resources, retrieved the victims from the rubble. The injured woman was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.Local sources said the room had become structurally weak due to recent rains, which ultimately led to the collapse.Authorities have urged residents to take precautionary measures, especially during the rainy season, to avoid such tragedies.
