PESHAWAR: The Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Alliance, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (EVAWG Alliance KP), on Monday expressed concern over the recent military strikes involving the United States and Israel in Iran, which resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.

A communication said any escalation of armed conflict that endangers civilian populations raises serious concerns under international humanitarian law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The protection of civilians, particularly women and girls who disproportionately suffer during conflict, must remain a central priority in all military and political decisions. It said violence and instability in the region not only threaten immediate lives but also create long-term risks for women and girls, including displacement, loss of livelihoods, reduced access to health services, and increased vulnerability to gender-based violence.

EVAWG Alliance KP said it stands in solidarity with affected communities and with peace advocates across the world who are calling for restraint, accountability, and urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
