KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Aisamul Haq has announced that international tennis tournaments will return to Pakistan, adding that the federation will organize the events with full motivation and dedication. He also revealed that Karachi will host two national-level ranking tennis tournaments in February, including the National Tennis Championship from February 16 to 23 at Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana.
Aisamul Haq was addressing a press conference at Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana here on Wednesday.The PTF president informed that Karachi will host two back-to-back National Ranking tournaments during the month of February.
He said that besides the National Tennis Championship, the PSO National Ranking Tournament will be held at the Karachi Club from February 8 to 15.Aisamul Haq, who was a world-renowned tennis player during his playing career and now serves as PTF president, vowed that the federation is working hard to promote tennis across the country. He said several important steps are being taken to organize maximum tournaments so that the younger generation is attracted to this wonderful game once again and fresh, budding talent can be identified.
He added that to make the competitions more colorful, night tennis events under floodlights will also be organized during the National Championship at Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana.He reiterated his goal of making 2026 a “landmark and action-packed year,” which includes plans for seven ITF Junior events and the launch of a professional tennis league.
