ABBOTTABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti on Tuesday expressed the resolve to strengthen public safety and improve policing standards across the Hazara region.
He said this while chairing an only meeting of District Police Officers (DPOs) to review the law and order and crime control measures.
During the meeting, the DIG assessed the security situation in Hazara and received briefings from the DPOs on ongoing operations against criminals.
DIG Nasir Mahmood Satti ordered a crackdown against anti-state elements, gangs involved in heinous crimes, drug traffickers, proclaimed offenders, and other anti-social elements.
He emphasized the use of modern technology, intelligence-based policing, and professional expertise to ensure decisive and result-oriented operations. He directed strict legal action against individuals and networks involved in human trafficking, warning that no leniency would be shown.
DIG Hazara directed the officials to strengthen security arrangements and ordered foolproof security at mosques and Imambargahs during Ramazan.
Additional police personnel are to be deployed at sensitive points, while the patrolling system is to be further reinforced to ensure visible and effective policing.
The DIG directed the deployment of lady police personnel for patrolling duties at shopping malls and commercial areas and emphasized strict surveillance of suspicious individuals and activities. Police mobile patrolling is to be increased during Iftar and Taraweeh hours, while well-coordinated traffic management plans are to be implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the holy month.
Stressing improvements at the grassroots level, DIG Hazara instructed officers to enhance the performance of police stations, strengthen patrols and checkpoints, and ensure prompt redressal of public complaints.
He emphasized that service delivery at the police station level must be improved to build public trust and confidence in the police.
DIG Satti directed that cases be investigated strictly on merit, with transparency and in accordance with the law.
He ordered priority completion of investigations in serious cases, including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, narcotics, and other sensitive offences.
