CHARSADDA: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam said on Tuesday that education and technology were indispensable in the modern era and the government was striving hard to equip students with advanced tools to meet the future challenges.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, (BKUC) for distributing laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, he said that thousands of students had already benefited from the laptop scheme, calling it a milestone in the country’s educational progress.
Amir Muqam, who is also Pakistan Mulim League-Nawaz provincial president, said that providing modern facilities to students was essential for national development. He said that Pakistan had always prioritised peace and played a responsible role in recent regional tensions, which has strengthened its positive global image. Over 200 laptops were distributed among the students.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khan Alam highlighted the importance of integrating quality education with modern technology, noting that such initiatives significantly enhance students’ academic and research capabilities. He added that the university administration was continuously working to improve the learning environment. Both speakers reaffirmed the need for collective efforts to ensure the country’s progress.
During the ceremony, several key initiatives were announced for the university, including scholarships for an additional 300 students, provision of 10 hybrid buses for student transport, a dedicated electricity line for the university and the establishment of a new building and laboratories for allied health sciences.
