Islamabad: The Embassy of the Netherlands in Pakistan held its annual Human Rights Tulip Award ceremony here Tuesday, celebrating efforts in advancing and protecting human rights.

The current year’s prestigious award was presented to the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) in recognition of its vital institutional role in promoting accountability and safeguarding fundamental freedoms.

Ambassador Robert-Jan Siegert handed the Human Rights Tulip to Rabiya Javeri Agha, Chairperson of NCHR, whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing the Commission’s mission and strengthening human rights advocacy across Pakistan.

Presenting the award, Ambassador Robert-Jan Siegert said. Rabiya Javeri Agha, Chairperson of the NCHR, said after receiving the Human Rights Tulip award on behalf of the Commission. 

The Dutch Ambassador for Human Rights, Wim Geerts, who is currently visiting Pakistan, also participated in the ceremony. During his stay, he met with government authorities, civil society representatives.
