On the occasion of World Epilepsy Day, the Liaquat National Hospital organised a group cycling event to raise public awareness about epilepsy, provide accurate information and promote positive attitudes in society.

The objective was to spread a message that with timely diagnosis, proper medical treatment and support from the community, epileptic patients could lead a healthy and normal life. The cycling event was led by Prof Dr Prem Chand and had participation of medical experts, nurses and paramedical staff along with various cycling communities of the city and general public.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Prem Chand said that providing accurate information, timely interventions and social support with empathetic care were vital to address epilepsy. He said the Liaquat National Hospital had all the modern and comprehensive treatment facilities for epileptic patients.

He added that it was very important to dispel misconceptions and social prejudices about epilepsy, so that patients could live with confidence. Appreciating the efforts of the cycling community, media representatives and all the participants, he said they all had contributed to the promotion of health awareness and social inclusion.
