Police seize 313kg drugs in major bust

GUJRANWALA: The Cantt police have seized a large consignment of drugs, recovering more than 7 maunds valued at crores of rupees. 

According to reports, the police received information that a white Prado carrying notorious drug dealer Sajid Khan, alias Saju, who is involved in large-scale drug trafficking, was en route to supply drugs.

A roadblock was set up immediately, but the vehicle tried to flee. During the chase, the vehicle was found parked near Alipur Road after hitting a tree, while Sajid and his two accomplices allegedly escaped. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities recovered 15 nylon bags containing 313 kilograms (7 maunds 33 kilograms) of drugs, including 270 kg of hashish and 43 kg of opium. Special teams under the leadership of SDPO Cantt have been formed to apprehend the absconding suspects.

FIA ARRESTS SMUGGLING GANG MEMBER: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Adeel, a member of a smuggling gang, in Gujranwala. Officials reported recovering gold worth Rs 30 million and currencies from various countries from his possession.

The accused is part of a six-member gang with links to Sialkot and Gujranwala. Investigations have also revealed the involvement of certain customs officers, and the gang reportedly had data on families traveling to Dubai.
