LAHORE: The 23rd winter meeting of the Lahore Race Club is set to deliver a thrilling day of racing action on Sunday (today), with six competitive contests on the card. The highlight of the meeting will be the Khalid Bin Waleed Cup, a prestigious race that promises to be the centerpiece of the event. Alongside the feature, five other races will provide racing enthusiasts with plenty of excitement and unpredictability.
With Sikander tipped as the standout in the Khalid Bin Waleed Cup, and competitive fields across all divisions, Sunday’s meeting promises a blend of favourites, dark horses, and thrilling finishes. The Lahore Race Club’s winter calendar continues to showcase the depth of local racing talent and the excitement of Pakistan’s turf tradition.
The opening race, a maiden event over 1100 metres, features a mix of newcomers and developing horses. Among them, Majesty is tipped as the favourite, with Altaf Star expected to place and Babbar Sher considered a potential fluke. This race will set the tone for the day, offering a glimpse of emerging talent. The field also has True My Love, Raees Sahib, Singhar, Abdullah Pasur, and Fateh One.
In the second race, also over 1100 metres, Anni Power is predicted to lead the field, with Augustus likely to challenge for a place. Barrister is seen as the outsider who could spring a surprise.
