ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that it was a deliberate decision not to play with India in the T20i World Cup as there should be no politics in the field of play at all.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking at a federal cabinet meeting, said that Pakistan would not play a match against India in the T20 World Cup. “We have taken a clear stance in the T20i World Cup, there should be no politics on the playing field and we have made a deliberate decision not to play with India.” The prime minister said that Pakistan must stand with Bangladesh.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while speaking at a meeting of the federal cabinet, said that in Balochistan, Khawarij and India carried out terrorist attacks. “Our brave forces gave a befitting reply to terrorists as 180 terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action, while 17 soldiers and 31 civilians were martyred in the terrorist attack.”
The prime minister said that the enemy was defeated in the Marka-e-Haq, those who target unarmed civilians are not human beings. “The sacrifices of our martyrs will not go in waste and terrorism will be ended at all costs,” the prime minister said.
He said that the entire nation was standing like a strong wall against terrorism, and the entire nation was saddened by the killing of labourers and children. Talking about Iran, the prime minister said that Pakistan played a fraternal role in the tense situation in Iran. He said that he, deputy prime minister and field marshal had meetings and telephone conversations with the Iranian leadership on different occasions.
The prime minister said that Qatar, Turkey, Egypt and other countries have also put in efforts on the issue of Iran. “They are making every effort to resolve the issue of Iran through dialogue. They want the threats looming in the region to end and they want lasting peace in the region,” he said.
