The Sindh Teachers’ Helpline, established by the Sindh Teachers Development Authority (STEDA) to facilitate and guide teachers, was formally launched on Wednesday.
Officials said the helpline had been set up on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah to provide guidance and support to teachers across the province. During its first session, teachers from various districts of Sindh shared their questions, concerns, and suggestions through phone calls.
A total of 25 calls were received on the first day. The helpline session was held from 12pm to 2pm. Member of the Sindh Assembly and STEDA Board Member Tanzila Um Habiba personally listened to the calls and provided satisfactory responses to the teachers’ queries. Executive Director STEDA Rasool Bux Shah and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Habiba said that the issues and suggestions received through the Teachers’ Helpline were being properly documented and would be presented in the upcoming STEDA Board meeting for necessary action. She added that teachers in Sindh, particularly female teachers, could also seek guidance through the helpline regarding professional challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director STEDA Rasool Bux Shah said that teachers’ participation through phone calls had established direct coordination with STEDA, which would help ensure the timely resolution of issues. He clarified that, in addition to public school teachers, private school teachers could also contact the Sindh Teachers’ Helpline.
Through the helpline, teachers could obtain information related to teacher education, teaching licences, and training programmes, which was an important step towards improving the quality of education in the province. Teachers could contact the helpline at 0315-1464945. The helpline would remain operational every Wednesday from 12pm to 2pm.
