LODHRAN/KABIRWALA: Four persons were killed and 30 others injured after a truck and a passenger bus collided on Jalalpur Road, near Mandhali Mor here Saturday night.
The ill-fated bus carried wedding passengers, who were returning home in Gogdan from Jahanian when the horrific accident took place.
The dead and injured included men, women and children. According to rescue sources, about 30 people were injured in the tragic accident.
The coaster had gone to Jahanian with a wedding procession and was returning Gogdan when it met a terrible accident.
After the accident, rescue and police teams immediately reached the spot and started rescue operation. Those injured and dead in the accident were shifted to hospital.
Separately, four people died and 13 became seriously injured in two road accidents in Rojhan and Kabirwala areas of Punjab.
The first accident took place at Indus Highway near Miani Phatak in Rojhan in which two people lost their lives and ten became injured when a trailer collided with the bus due to over speeding.
Soon after receiving the report Rescue 1122 and local police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured persons to the hospital.
The second accident occurred at M 4 Motorway near Abdul Hakim when a passenger bus which was coming from the back side of the vehicle hit the car.
Rescue sources said that two people died on the spot and three suffered severe injuries.
Soon after the accident Motorway Police and the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured persons to the hospital.
