10th Gwadar book fair opens in honour of Baloch scholar Syed Zahoor Shah

QUETTA: The 10th Gwadar Book Fair, organized by the RCD Council Gwadar, opened on Wednesday and has been dedicated to renowned Balochi poet, linguist, and author of the first Balochi dictionary, Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi.

Prominent social worker Dr. Quratulain Bakhteari inaugurated the fair. Among those who addressed the ceremony were Gwadar MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, University of Gwadar Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, RCD Council President Haji Abdul Ghani Nawazish, writer Dr. Fatima Hassan, and patron-in-chief Khuda Bakhsh Hashim. Speakers said book fairs play a vital role in promoting knowledge, awareness, and intellectual development among youth, and praised the dedication of the event to Hashmi for his significant contributions to Balochi language and literature. The fair features 56 stalls, including 40 displaying books on a variety of subjects.
