LAHORE:The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched an extensive cleanliness operation at Gaddafi Stadium as major T20 matches between Pakistan and Australia draw near, aiming to provide cricket fans with a clean and hygienic environment, according to a press release issued here Wednesday.
The LWMC authorities said that ahead of the T20 matches, LWMC teams have completed thorough cleaning and washing of all stadium enclosures. The stadium has been declared a zero-waste zone, and warnings have been issued to spectators against littering, with fines to be imposed on violators.
As part of the cleaning operation, 320 sanitary workers, 30 supervisors and five officers have been deployed on cleaning of the stadium. The operation is being supported by five mechanical washers, three mini dumpers and three loader dumpers, which are engaged in washing and sweeping activities.
LWMC workers are also ensuring detailed washing of the premises, dusting of seating areas and cleaning of washrooms. In addition, cleanliness and washing operations are being carried out in parking areas around the stadium.
